You want to reach out to potential clients, and, keep in touch with your current clients.  Building a website may be the beginning of a new way to reach out and inform, contact, advertise.  Not really new, been around for a bit.  But, if you haven't gone down this road, it is a new experience for you.  Just think about it - the world can learn about your business!

The world may not be your target market.  Most of us (businesses) on the web aren't ready (or want to be) for global  marketing.  It is nice to know that everyone within an unlimited mile radius can find out you're there, ready and waiting.  Who knows - a surfer  5000 miles away may know someone in your backyard that needs what your business offers.  OK, that's pushing it. 

Seriously, look at it as an electronic brochure.  A directory that has no boundaries or limits.  A neon sign for the world to view.  And it's fun too.
